ECONtribute - Reinhard Selten Institute
ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy, a joint initiative of the Universities of Bonn and Cologne, is funded as a Cluster of Excellence in the German Excellence Strategy. The goal is to explore markets in the area of conflict between economics, political science and society ("public policy"). Under the roof of the Reinhard Selten Institute, the ECONtribute cluster aims to tackle new market challenges. The goal of the Cluster is to do research on markets and advance a new paradigm for the analysis of market failures that goes beyond traditional approaches and takes current political, social and technological challenges into account.
Overall societal concerns such as fairness, social mobility and the shouldering of social responsibility are to be taken into account when shaping markets. These objectives should be systematically integrated into the analysis of incentives, market mechanisms and policy-making processes.
